Job Description

As a Banqueting Sous Chef you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the hotel delivers the company experience by reviewing hotel operations from the customer’s perspective as well as from a business perspective.
  • Manage and participate in daily banquet culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of meals, supervision of food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability
  • Keep current on pulse of the guests, constantly seeking opportunities to follow up on their experience.
  • Provide employees with the tools and environment they need to deliver the company experience.
  • Develop and implement strategies and practices that support employee engagement.
  • Supervise the daily set-up for the menu; anticipate business volume and stock work areas accordingly.
  • Ensure unused food is stored properly to minimize waste and maximize quality.
  • Assist in menu planning and recipe development, ordering quality ingredients and planning how dishes are to be presented

Candidate Profile

- excellent culinary skills, 
- strong leadership and communication skills, 
- previous experience in managing banquets, and experience in menu planning and recipe development al least 2 years
